Apollonia Vintage Moroccan Rug 6'3"x8'7" (Wool)

Approximately 20-30 years old, this Berber carpet would have originally been made by the Mrirt Berber Tribe produces what's locally known as "shadow carpets".  Interestingly, Mrirt women don't use specific designs, but rather they replace designs with shadow wool vegetables colors.

This vintage rug was made by a woman of a Berber tribe in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.

She created this Moroccan carpet with wool and small portions of cotton thread, and permitted herself personal freedom in expressing her own creativity and values through North African symbology and colors as she wove these designs.

This Moroccan rug is one of a kind, and can be used as a rug or wall hanging. 

The dark, vibrant purple color, as well as its size turn this rug into a statement piece, making it the perfect choice for large, light colored rooms.
